The wrought-iron lattice tower was initially heavily criticised by Parisian artists and intellectuals - but is now seen by many as the symbol of the "City of Light".

Amid concerns about protests, strikes, security and whatever might be floating in the Seine, the City of Light is about to strike a pose on its years-long Olympics runway.

From the Palace of Versailles to the Place de La Concorde and of course, the Eiffel Tower, organizers have made sure the City of Light’s most famous landmarks will take center stage during the Olympics.

“City of Light,” Brooklyn said, reading the name of the production off the door.

Just two new venues have been built from scratch for 2024 as the City of Light looks to use its existing venues, along with famous landmarks as the backdrop to events.
