Wing drones began delivering food in Christiansburg, Va., in March 2024 after launching a pilot program in Australia in 2022.

Consumers in Christiansburg, Va. will be able to order drone delivery orders from Wendys.

"Beginning today, when DoorDash customers with an eligible address in Christiansburg, VA place a qualifying order in the DoorDash app from the Wendy’s located at 2355 N. Franklin Street, they will see the option to have their meal delivered by drone on the checkout page," the release continued.

Tim Wilson, a 60-year-old Army veteran who owns a business in Christiansburg that provides wigs and other supplies to cancer patients, said he won a town council seat last year to help attract business and jobs.

“It’s not a political thing. It’s a we-love-our-country thing,’” said Alecia Vaught, 46, a homemaker and Republican organizer in Christiansburg.
