Chichagof Island

It sits on Chichagof Island, about 80 miles southwest of Juneau by seaplane, and its motto is “Closest to the fish.”

Locations varied – from the Cheshire countryside in the UK, to Chichagof Island off the coast of Alaska to a high-rise apartment block in Sydney, Australia.

KTVA-TV reports the city of Hoonah on Chichagof Island is partnering with Huna Totem Corporation and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to build a pier at Icy Strait Point.

The Guard says in a news release that two MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews rescued the kayakers near Chichagof Island Saturday evening.

The city’s mayor, Ken Skaflestad, said Friday afternoon that Hoonah residents depend on planes or the ferry service to travel to and from the town on Chichagof Island.
