In a long-term biannual survey of plots in Utah’s Canyonlands National Park, they found that biocrust lichens in particular suffer when temperatures increase.

The newly described figures share characteristics with other rock art formations in the southeast, like cliff drawings at Alabama’s Painted Bluff, and also in the Southwest, like the humanlike pictographs in Canyonlands National Park.

This task force will recommend new names for places such as Squaw Canyon and Squaw Flat in Canyonlands National Park and Squaw Creek in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

The Grand County sheriff’s office and first responders responded to a report of the fall Friday around 4:30 p.m. north of Canyonlands National Park border near Mineral Bottom, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
