Caney Fork

I was rattled, so I pulled over at the next rest area in a leafy curve in the Caney Fork River in east-central Tennessee, a beautiful spot.

Historic range: Caney Fork, Duck and Elk rivers in Tennessee's Barrens Plateau; population estimated at 4,500 to 5,000 in 1983.
