Buzzard's Bay

The Coast Guard cutter Tahoma took the fishing vessel into tow on Monday and hauled it five days before turning it over to a towing company near Buzzard’s Bay on Friday.

During his early years as a teacher, Jordan furthered his own education by spending the summers of 1873 and 1874 at Penikese in Buzzard’s Bay, Massachusetts, studying marine biology with Louis Agassiz of Harvard University.

The ride back through Buzzard’s Bay in May was so rough, Ms. Walsh recalled, she thought they might not make it back for their June wedding.

Their “real” home is in New Jersey, but they repair to Buzzard’s Bay, a piece of land in Massachusetts, at first in summer, then as personal need or desire dictate, regardless of season.
