I had just discovered Maeve Binchy.

Indeed, when the BBC visited on Friday it found titles by Ruth Rendall, Wilbur Smith and Maeve Binchy.

I find myself yearning for the gentle, rain-soaked watercolour writing of Maeve Binchy, with her adorable girls brimming with life and worried, caring mothers.
