This juicy-sounding nonfiction work just might be the early-fall equivalent of a beach read: Biographer Leamer examines the lives of a group of New York City socialites who befriended writer Truman Capote — only to have him betray them by spilling their secrets in what he hoped would be a great novel.

If you’re looking for something light, fun and full of ridiculous ’80s fashion, I can’t recommend the new Netflix documentary about the pop group Wham! enough — it’s basically the documentary equivalent of a beach read.

This Canadian comedy is as if you took an Elin Hilderbrand beach read and mixed in a tiny bit of “Succession.”
