The BAFTAs is a popular name for the annual film award ceremony of BAFTA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The awards presented during this event are also called BAFTAs. The award ceremony is sometimes called the BAFTA Film Awards or the British Academy Film Awards.��

The academy established its awards for film in 1949. Awards for television were introduced in 1954. A separate ceremony to honor artists and professionals in children’s media was established in 1996, followed by one for video games in 1998.
