Hindu groups said the 17th-Century mosque was built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on the partial ruins of the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

"This smog is very harmful for children, masks should be mandatory in schools," Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said.

Aurangzeb said the fumes were “being carried by strong winds into Pakistan”.

The compensation was approved at a meeting led by Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, the statement said.

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the IMF’s mission chief to Pakistan, Nathan Porter, led their teams during the talks, which began on Thursday last week.
