Antisana

There were miles of fantastic hiking trails on its 4,400-acre property, which bridged two parts of the Antisana National Park.

������'s more, Moret and his co-authors found that much of the data Humboldt displayed on the slopes of Chimborazo actually came from another volcano, 5700-meter Antisana, 130 kilometers to the northeast.

Moret's team decided to do its own survey of those patterns—not on Chimborazo, but on Antisana, the source of most of Humboldt's data.

But for one species, a silvery leafed shrub called Senecio nivalis, Bonpland had clearly recorded a maximum altitude of 4860 meters, right where Antisana's permanent snow began.

Part of the exam took place on the glacier of the 5,758m-high Antisana volcano, south-east of the capital, Quito.
