Judith Jamison, a renowned performer and choreographer who devoted most of her dance career to the trailblazing Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, has died.

Perrineau and De Sousa had previously been part of Alvin Ailey’s dance company.

Solange called from her home in the New York area on a recent morning after taking in an Alvin Ailey exhibition at the Whitney Museum.

Ailey said caring for her unwell baby was hard - especially as she was still recovering from a C-Section.

The director Jamila Wignot, who has profiled Alvin Ailey for “American Masters” and directed episodes of Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s “Finding Your Roots,” brings more organizational sense than imaginative flair to the four-episode series.
